Romans 8: 26-39

This is such a rich passage in Romans, as is the whole book.

The first segment talks about the Holy Spirit interceding for us. God knows what we need, even if we don’t ask. And our prayers will be answered according to His will, not our own. The spirit intercedes for us when we simply don’t know what to pray for. When we’re feeling discouraged, by stopping and being still in God’s presence, we allow the Holy Spirit to intervene for us and to give us peace.

I often think of the Holy Spirit as being my “helper”, as in John 14:16-18.  And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

That is so reassuring to me!

The next segment talks of how we’ve been called according to God’s purpose because we love Him. So, what is His purpose?  To be conformed to Christ’s image.  And what would that look like?  In our quiet time let’s think about Christ’s

attributes and how we can conform to Him.

The last segment, “More than Conquerors”, practically speaks for itself. We are so loved by God, no matter who we are or what we’ve done. Nothing will be able to separate us from His love through Christ Jesus.
