“It is madness to wear ladies’ straw hats and velvet hats to church; we should all be wearing crash helmets. Ushers should issue life preservers and signal flares; they should lash us to our pews. For the sleeping god may wake someday and take offense, or the waking god may draw us out to where we can never return.”
    ―Annie Dillard

    Worship With Us!

We gather for worship every Sunday at 10:45am. Coffee and fellowship follows in our parish hall. Please join us for both!

Communion is celebrated every week, and all are invited to participate. Our church building is centrally located next door to city hall in historic downtown New London, Connecticut with ample on street parking available. For more details about what to expect, check out our worship page.

    No matter who you are,

no matter where you are on life's journey,

    Welcome to First Congregational Church

First Congregational Church is a spiritual community in the heart of downtown New London, focused on providing a safe and welcoming space for all who are seeking spiritual connection and guidance in their lives. We are a theologically progressive, Christ centered community, striving to follow Christ on the way of discipleship, and to shine the light of God's love in the world.

FCCNL is a faith community that believes fiercely in God's radically inclusive love for all people, regardless of age, gender, race, nationality, sexual orientation or identity, economic status, marital status, or physical or mental ability. We welcome all God's children into full fellowship and participation in our community.

Jesus didn't reject anyone, and so neither do we.
